Let's CHEER for Cheer Bear-Upcycled Care Bear Mug

Updated: Jun 4, 2023

Babes, I think we can all learn a little something from Cheer Bear! And BEFORE you say anythinggggg, I GET IT! It's a KID'S cartoon character-but I have 4 kids and am on a mission to raise them right.

Cheer Bear is always beaming with positive energy and her mission is to spread warmth and happiness to those around her- we NEED more Cheer Bears in our lives and I encourage you to be that beam of light around the people in your life. One of the most important lessons we can learn from Cheer Bear is the power of encouragement. She knows that it is important to cheer people on, even when they are facing difficult challenges or setbacks. Whether it be with a kind word, a hug, or just a smile, Cheer Bear always knows how to lift the spirits of those around her. How do I know this? Well, my kids have a TV in our car and they watch a Care Bears DVD on REPEAT because my 3yr old LOVES IT. We can ALL learn that a little bit of positivity and encouragement can go a long way.

Now, Let's jump into the deets of this cute mug!

I found this adorable all pink mug at my local Marshalls store in the CLEARANCE section, (You can find the same mug HERE from Amazon)! I felt like I hit the jackpot haha! It had a big chip in the handle BUT I already had a project in mind and knew it could be covered.

To prep the mug I did a light sand of the ceramic with a 400 grit sanding pad from The Crystalac Company. I pulled out my Rock Candy bling collection that I have with the Glitter Heart Co. and got to work!

The colors I used:

Jaipur- Light pink for the body

Aspen- White for the face

Havana- Darker Pink for the details

And thennnnn I decided I wanted to add a rainbow to the handle so I used a bunch of Rock Candy bling to make a gorgeous rainbow!

If you want to snag some Rock Candy at a discount, I have 2 codes for the Glitter Heart Co- LAURENQ15 and CRYSTALAC10

I use a little glue bottle to apply the glue to the mug and a rhinestone picker to pick up and apply the stones.

Once you're completely done with blinging your project you can wait 48hrs and then wash your project with some dawn dish soap- this helps get rid of any of the wax residue from the rhinestone picker.

Happy Crafting my Beautiful Babes! And remember, be a little more like Cheer Bear!
